高考

  1.開心

  Learning the children’s idea, Mrs. Meredith was so 1.overjoyed (高興的) that she smiled brightly. Then, the children got down to preparing popcorn 2. cheerfully (高興地). With a basket of popcorn, they left for the Bernard’s  3. joyfully (高興地) to share with Bernard the good plan. Hearing what they said, Bernard 4. danced with joy (高興地雀躍), with tears filling his eyes. At the sight of the basket of popcorn, his parents were also 5. seized with joy(非常高興). Later,  6. much to his delight (另他非常高興的是), the popcorn was so tasty that it soon sold out. He soon returned, his whole face 7. beaming with delight(高興得滿臉通紅). 8. Laughter lingered around the room. (笑聲在房間里縈繞)

  2.傷心

  I was selected to represent my school in the approaching contest this year. But I was so proud that I neglected the importance of practicing for the contest. On the day of the contest, I began to lose confidence in myself and suffered from stage fright. In the end I walked off the stage, 1.my eyes filled with tears (眼里飽含淚水).Finally, results were announced after the contest. I did not win any prizes. I bit my bottom lip 2. with sadness filling her heart (心里充滿悲傷). I dragged my heavy legs 3. with a sinking heart (心情沉重) and moved out of the lecture hall. 4. I hung my head in sadness, great sorrow clouding my eyes (我傷心地垂著頭,巨大的悲傷籠罩著我的雙眼). On entering the classroom, 5.disappointment and sadness came in waves and tears streamed down my cheeks(悲傷如潮涌,淚水從臉頰滑落). The next following days, I felt like she was 6. floating in an ocean of sadness. (我感覺正漂浮在悲傷的海洋里), not wanting to do anything.

  3.生氣

  The door opened and in came a young man.Shocked to see us packing things into our suitcase, the young man 1. let out a yell of anger, with his eyes shining with annoyance(憤怒地大叫了一聲,眼里閃爍著惱怒的光芒。). 2. He was in a furious passion, and went stamping about(他大發(fā)雷霆,跺著腳走來走去). He accused us of illegally entering his room and threatened to call the police, which scared my children to death. Just at that moment, my husband returned after his grocery shopping. Hearing the man's rude words, 3. a fire of rage burning in his heart(一股怒火在心中燃燒).  It seemed that no settlement would be possible, and the situation reached a boiling point. 4. Quarrels fueled his anger and he erupted like a volcano(爭吵如火上澆油,于是他的憤怒就像火山一樣爆發(fā)了). Eventually,  5. unable to contain his anger, my husband stormed out of the room, slamming the door furiously behind him(無法控制心中的怒氣,我丈夫氣得沖出房間,狠狠地摔上門).

  4.害怕

  The hungry bear followed his nose to our camp, which was surrounded by a high wire fence. He pulled and bit the wire. He stood on his back legs and pushed at the wooden fence posts. 1.A burst of horror held me entirely in its power, and I was unable to move an inch (恐懼噴薄而出,將我緊緊包圍,我已經(jīng)寸步難行了). 2. Extremely frightened/panicked, I felt my legs trembling and my palms sweating (驚恐不已,我覺得兩腿發(fā)抖,手心冒汗). Beside me was my wife, who was rooted to the ground, 3. who was rooted to the ground, frozen with fear (嚇呆了). At the sight of the polar bear’ bloody mouth, 4. she was nearly dead with fright (嚇得要死).The furry creature launched an attack on the fence, instantly leaving a narrow opening on it. 5. We felt that the blood in our body froze(我們感覺渾身血液凝固了)because of the terrible sight. Our throats tightened and our knees felt weak. Elli and I tried all the bear defense actions we knew. We yelled at the bear, hit pots hard, and fired blank shotgun shells into the air.

  5.緊張

  When I finished her testing performance, I thanked Mr. Butler and knew the result would be posted on the door of the choral room the next day.1.I couldn’t fall asleep , tossing and turning in bed for a whole night(我在床上輾轉(zhuǎn)反側(cè)了一整夜,無法入睡)By the next morning, I hurried to the school and 2. nervously(緊張地)glanced at the list on the door of the choral room, 3. feeling as if my heart were in my mouth (感覺好像我的心都提到嗓子眼兒了). There, at the top of the list was posted my name. Inspired, I practiced even harder for the day of performance. Finally the day for the performance came. When I was standing backstage, 4. nervousness/tension came flooding over me (緊張感席卷全身).When my name was called I could 5. feel butterflies in my stomach (我感到心里忐忑不安). My trembling legs brought me onstage, and I could 6. feel my palms sweating and heart racing (我手心冒汗,心跳加速。). The hall crowded with audience made me even more 7. uneasy(不安的). 8. My heart was pounding/thumping hard, as if it were about to pop (我的心撲通撲通地好像要跳出來了). At that moment, my eyes parked on Mr. Butler at the corner. He nodded and exchanged a determined glance with me, which timely put my heart back in place. With the music rising, I began my singing. When I finished, the auditorium erupted into a sea of cheers.

  6.感動

  The next day we remembered the brand-new tent we had brought with us. We decided to camp along the river. The views on the journey were surprisingly beautiful, 1. a wave of excitement taking hold of Mom (媽媽激動不已). Every time we got to a new place,Mom could hardly 2. contain her excitement (抑制興奮), and would 3. cheer up (振奮起來) like a child. She would get off the car, laughing and dancing around 4.with excitement (興奮地).The moment we arrived at the camping place, 5. letting out a scream of thrill (激動得尖叫起來), Mom located a clearing and immediately guided us to pitch the tent 6. With eyes glittering \twinkling with excitement (眼里閃著激動的光芒),we sat on the grass, enjoying the splendid nature.

  7.尷尬

  By now we were standing in the long holiday line to pay the bill. and I figured it was a good chance. I threw myself on the ground, screaming, “l want that telephone.” over and over again. “Becky, you’d better get up at once”, my mother said with a trembling voice, 1. embarrassment written in her red face (漲紅的臉上寫滿了窘迫).Turning a deaf ear to her, I was still in full tantrum. 2. feeling the blood rushing to her face (羞愧不已), my mother stood there, 3. feeling the blood rushing to her face (覺得血液涌上臉頰). She suddenly lay down beside me on the floor, likewise kicking and screaming out for a string of such items as she was eager to possess. Seeing that, 4. I became increasingly embarrassed and could feel my heart thumping wildly, my face burning badly (我越來越尷尬,能聽見自己心跳加速的聲音,臉燒得厲害).5. All the air seemed to disappear and I felt as if the whole world was watching us (所有的空氣似乎都消失了,我覺得整個世界都在注視著我們). “Mama, stop. Mama, get up.” I tearfully pleaded. She gave me a look and rose up, brushing the dust from her clothes.

  8.驚訝

  I threw myself on the ground, screaming, “I want that telephone.” Over and over again. All the Christmas shoppers looked on 1.in astonishment(震驚地) . 2. A spark of surprise flashed across my mother’s face(臉上閃過一絲驚奇), she ordered angrily, "Get up right now." Turning a deaf ear to her, I was still in full tantrum. 3. What shocked me was that(令我震驚的是) was that my mother suddenly lay down beside me on the floor, likewise kicking and screaming out for a string of such items as she was eager to possess. Seeing that, I was 4. numb with shock, as if rooted to the ground(我呆住了,動彈不得) . All the on-lookers glued their eyes to us, 5. with jaws dropping to the ground(驚掉下巴). 6. Dumbfounded(目瞪口呆)initially, they then burst into thunderous applause, showering praise on my mother.
